E-Monitor

The E-Monitor is a new class of instrumentation designed by PCD for USARIEM. This instrument has four sensors: 1) Activity (actigraph), 2) Temperature – °F, 3) Humidity - %, 4) Solar Radiation – watts/m². It will be available in two configurations: 1) Status E–Monitor, which includes corrected sleep, (no host computer needed), 2) 192K E-Logger. These two devices act like miniature weather stations. The E-Logger may provide new information about the affect of the local (immersion) environment on wearer activity and sleep. The E-Logger or Monitor may be an important means to warn the wearer of impending dangerous thermal strain. Availability – 4th QTR 2007
